Thank you to my family, friends, and supporters who attended my campaign kickoff! I am touched and humbled by the support you have shown me. My campaign’s message is “Community First,” and I pledge to put Bernards first.
Today I celebrated the start of spring with the hues of pinks, blues, yellows, and greens while playing Holi with the BRIC - Basking Ridge Indian Community. Holi is popularly known as the Festival of Spring or the Festival of Colors. It signifies the end of winter and the beginning of spring, it honors the triumph of good over evil, it is a festive day to meet new friends and see old friends, to play and laugh together, and to share. Our community has families from many different cultures and religions, and we celebrate how each contribute to our great town in their own unique way. Our celebration and appreciation of diverse cultures is why so many of us have chosen to call Bernards our home. I believe in community first, and community first is celebrating the colors of spring with your community. That’s Bernards #CommunityFirst #HOLI #OneCommunity
Cast your line and hook the biggest! This week was Bernards Parks & Recreation’s Spring into Summer Week which culminated with the Annual Fishing Derby, at Southard Park. Bernards loves families and my sons loved the Annual fishing Derby. They have grown and flown, and we never hooked the biggest fish but we hooked the biggest smiles. I had a great time attending this year’s Derby with Bernards’ youngest generation and seeing their big smiles. That’s Bernards #funforfamilies #makingmemories
Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the “Outstanding Women of Somerset County Award”. Janice Fields serves as the Chair of the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women, and leads the panel that selects the recipients of this award, which annually recognizes nine Somerset County residents for their contributions to their communities. Janice said “ These women lead by example, embody what is great about Somerset County, and we are all better off for their tireless contributions”
STEM Girls Wanted! How fitting that during Women’s History Month, Bernards Township Committee Candidate Janice Fields and the Chair of the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women was on hand to receive a $5,000 grant from Investors Savings Bank to fund a program near and dear to her heart, the fourth annual STEM program for Somerset County 7th and 8th grade girls. This program is free to Somerset County residents. Please check this link for STEM program applications in early September https://www.co.somerset.nj.us/…/commission-on-…/stem-program
